“Everything Feels Like the First Time Again” – Klaudia Jahn on Renewal, Responsibility, and the Future of Szekszárd

A player with several seasons behind her, yet now it feels as if everything is happening for the first time. New goals, new challenges, and a team that might be stronger than ever. The captain talks about motivation, responsibility, and how a new era has transformed both her career and the club’s future. We sat down for a conversation with Klaudia Jahn.
“I came into this season with a completely new mindset: I feel much more motivated, more determined, and I sense a new momentum carrying me forward,” she says firmly. This change is felt not only inside but throughout the entire operation of the club.

A vision that inspires

The club’s new direction is captivating: stronger objectives, a stable background, and a long-term, conscious approach to building success.
“I really like the direction the club is heading,” she shares. “The goals are more ambitious, the background is solid, and all signs point to a more deliberate, long-term process taking shape. That inspires me and gives me strength every day.”

Quick adaptation – a familiar face on the bench

The change in the coaching staff came as no surprise. “I’ve known head coach Attila Vágó for a long time, so we quickly found common ground,” she says with a smile. “It was easy to adapt to his new ideas, and the staff have been open and supportive from the start.”

Renewed motivation

According to the captain, this period brought new challenges and objectives that have reignited her fighting spirit.
“I felt I needed a change to give new momentum to my game. This period brought exactly that – new goals and new challenges that I’m genuinely excited about.”

Unity in the locker room

The atmosphere has become more relaxed and united since the change. “It’s much more positive and free now. Everyone pulls each other along, and it shows on the pitch. We’re a real, tight-knit community, and that unity reflects in our performance too.”

The responsibility of captaincy

One of the biggest challenges this season was taking on the captain’s armband alongside Viki Vári.
“Being a captain comes with a different kind of responsibility, and at first it was naturally a challenge. But the trust placed in me gave me great strength, and I was able to step into the role with ease. What really surprised me was the team – I was amazed at how quickly and well they adapted to the changes.”

Setting an example for the younger players

As an experienced player, she knows her teammates look to her both on and off the field. The younger ones often come to her for advice.
“Yes, several have approached me with trust,” she says. “At first, I found it hard to handle that responsibility because it’s a different role from what I’ve had before. But now I handle it more naturally, and I’m glad to help them grow in this way.”

Excitement and anticipation

She sees this season as a chance for the team to achieve better results than ever under the renewed conditions.
“I’m excited to see what we can do. Everything is in place for us to finish stronger than ever before.”

Core values that never change

Amid all the changes, three things remain constant: discipline, perseverance, and humility toward the sport.
“That never changes for me – these are the foundations, whether we win or learn from a match.”

On the threshold of a defining year

Our player is convinced this season will be special.
“I feel this could be a defining year in my career – everything is in place to make it truly special.”

Hoping for proud memories

Years from now, she hopes to look back on this period with pride.
“I want it to be an experience I remember fondly – something I learned from, grew from, and can proudly talk about in the future.”

A positive role model

When asked what she would like others to see in her, she answers without hesitation:
“I want people to notice the inner motivation that drives me forward right now, and the positive attitude I try to project – whether toward the team, the fans, or the staff.”

The goal: peak form

The main goal this year is clear: the girls don’t want to leave the question of staying in the league until the last match and aim to deliver the club’s strongest season ever.
“I believe – or rather, we believe – it’s possible, because we’re all pulling in the same direction and we trust each other.”

The changes are no coincidence: the new professional approach, fresh tactics, and strengthened team unity have been visible since the very first training sessions. But this new era can be measured not just in words, but in actions – and the next big opportunity to prove that is just around the corner. On August 23, at 17:00, Szekszárd FC will host MTK at home, where the team can prove that fresh energy and renewed motivation can translate into real results. The fans’ support means more than ever – because together, we can keep writing the story.
